at long last there is enough light in one of my videos

I am curious as to what you guys think of this set? Just me on the left and the amp on the right, a white background, very simple, and I may stencil "Brian Paul" in black onto the wall. My first video (coming this week) will be fully rehearsed and hopefully perfected... this short compilation shows some ideas I had. Enjoy!

Good stuff. Maybe give the routine more tonal material? Do some hard-hitting slower grooves, and use the multi-tonguing like a condiment, not as the meat. Solid sounds, and I look forward to hearing the finished set!!!

good point... the beats get quite technically repetitive, I noticed that (I was trying to do this one pattern and kept messing it up and starting over, hence the identical "roll-filled" beginnings)

but did you like the lighting and design? that was actually my main goal with this video... to see how people liked it visually, from a composition standpoint. My past vids have all been dark and blurry... hopefully this video is more accessible and interactive

Bright and simple is good. Makes the audience focus on the sound not the setting.

Yea if you mix the lighting on the first vid, with the beatboxing on the second one, that would be an all around good video.

the beat you drop at :40 sec in the second video was soo sick. Your toms are sick too. good stuff.

well I will be uploading one new vid a day, takes me about 3 hours a day when editting is factored in, not bad really.

It should really give me a lot of experience in creating better videos, editting them cleaner, and also I want to work on physical movement/choreography. I'd like to move my arms and hands while beatboxing, but I don't want to look stupid

about the bbx, the sec video was great, a lot of variation in your beats and sounds!

Ill have to check back with yo on that... its a roland keyboard amp... they have a great response because they're designed for piano performance

Just do it, your beatboxing is pretty good. Just do what feels naturally. I mean i cant even control my hand it has a life of its own when i beatbox.. and so do my movements.. they all go with the flow even though it may seem stupid if u look at yourself but others wont see it as stupid.. probaly lol....

Amen!!! If your performance is honest, your audience will be engaged. Don't try to perform, just perform.
