EmailThe purpose of this tutorial is to educate you in how to:
- Record from a Hi-Fi, TV, or anything in general which has a output plug/jack and that the plug/jack is the same as Image 1.1. (A jack basically means a place when you can plug in cords on a piece of equipment)
- Record from an audio that is playing on your computer. (eg you want to record a live broadcast from a website – You cannot download the broadcast)
- Record from a microphone
This tutorial will be split up into 4 sections:
Part 1: Recording from an external source
Part 2: Playing to an external source
Part 3: Recording audio that is being played through your soundcard
Part 4: Recording from a microphone
NOTE: For all sections of this tutorial you will need a program named Audacity. You can download it here.
Also, for sections 1 and 2 you will need a cable which you can buy at any computer/audio store. Just ask for a cable which goes from the line out of a hi-fi to the headphone jack of a computer.
