Open Mic Slot 1: vigilante and Lindsay - This was the first of the open mic sessions, vigi is pretty shy on the mic and may not have been as confident as he should have been, but combining vigi's beatboxing and Lindsays Guitar skills the pair made a very enjoyable collaboration to watch.
Open Mic Slot 2: Polo - After winning his award Polo stepped up very confidently and delivered a superb set including his now awarded Sega Sound!
Open Mic Slot 3: Minamus - His first set on a mic before, looking very nervous he performed very well and got the same reaction by the crowd, by them saying 'Your first time? Are you sure?!'
Open Mic Slot 4: Dainjamouth - Written by Hobbit: Next on the mic we had Dainjamouth, our battle finalist. Even after an intense 3 round battle he still had more to show the crowds and produced some sick beats, including some rather tasty grime and D'n'B beats.
Open Mic Slot 5: Marv-ill - Bringing out his piece of paper with his routine on Marv-ill never fails to please everyone, his routine was not only amazing but it was entertaining as well, but had to be stopped and he was told to carry the routine on at the end to cut down on time.
Open Mic Slot 6: TyTe, Bevis and Hobbit - This was a sick session, featuring 3 legends. Even after about 10 pints of cider Bevis still was able to deliver his Room Vibrating Bass!! Hobbit and TyTe looked very tired but still all 3 delivered an awesome Drum n Bass set!!!
Open Mic Slot 7: Bellatrix - Bellatrix amazed the crowd here with her routine. I have never heard a female beatboxer live before; she is amazing, this routine was to die for!
Open Mic Slot 8: Bellatrix and Jack - This is where Bellatrix brought her special weapons, her Double Bass and her friend Jack on the saxophone. This was an amazing set which stunned crowds when Belle beatboxed and played the double bass at the same time while Jack played along to their cover of Fever, also Jack surprised us with a little beatbox himself!!
Bellatrix and Jack
Open Mic Slot 9: Fozzy - I have never heard Fozzy beatbox before, and all I gotta say is this guy is dope!! His bass lines are amazing! And also given us the award winning cover Firestarter by Prodigy (one of my personal favourites of the night).
Fozzy
Open Mic Slot 10: White Noise - This guy is a legend! Not only did he first of all travel from Ireland to be here (and give me loads of cigarettes!!), he gave a top class performance, wowing the crowd with his awesome scratching and inward snare; this was not to be forgotten!
Open Mic Slot 11: yasSon - Sporting his red mohawk this legend took to the stage with some awesome drum n bass beats along side with his hilarious Cat (He's lucky BeatMuppet didn't watch this) and Dog Scratching Battle. I am personally a big fan of yasSon so watching this was amazing to not just me but to everyone in the room! Pity there was no didgeridoo this year!!
yasSon
Open Mic Slot 12: Boris FX and Oni - Boris is definitely an entertainer, sporting a crazy snow hat, showed the crowd his top skills. His scratches are unbelievably superb, showing off his award winning Duck scratch as well!! He then called up Oni for a lil Collab together. Apparently Oni doesn't Beatbox much but his skills are definitely very good indeed!! Even though he had throat issues as well as Boris.
Open Mic Slot 13: Marv-ill Continued - Even though time was short everyone in the room chanted for Marv-ill to do an encore after not finishing his first set. In this set he covered his Brainiac famous Oompa loompa beatbox, and then his amazing drum n bass set.
The Final Jam - The stage was then left for any beatboxers to jam and cypher together.
Polo, Marvill, Fozzy and White Noise
Archangel was also there setup with his Fr-Shh Products for sale for people to buy as they wish, including T-shirts and DVD's, the stall looked rather sexy.
The end of the night finished with an almighty group photo!!
Banardo (in the back), Noodles, Bellatrix, Boris, White Noise, Dainjamouth, Archangel, Minamus, Hobbit, Yasson and Random Guy!
Many thanks to Oni for standing on the door most of the night you legend!!
We also would like to thank everyone for their attendance and support for Make Some Noise 2006 and we hope to see you all next year!! Also thanks to Fr-shh and mic(ism) for their donations!
