First Inaugural Hawaii Beatbox Jam Recap

Here is our recap of the First Inaugural Hawaii Beatbox Jam: Breakthrough event held at Branch Studios Hawaii in Kakaako on Friday, November 21, 2014. It was organized by the Hawaii Beatbox Academy (formerly known as the Human Beatbox Academy), a mobile Hawaii beatbox school and beatbox curriculum utilized by Hawaii studios, after school programs, and lessons founded by Jason Tom and Biggie Gz. The Hawaii Beatbox Jam was hosted by emcee Mikey Mike (not to be confused with San Francisco beatboxer Mikee Mic), and featured 15 Hawaii beatboxers.

The 2014 Hawaii Beatbox Jam was headlined by Biggie Gz and Kid Mech with openers by the 2014 Hawaii Beatbox Battle Champion Eli So Fly (of 808 BeatVox), National Dance Week Hawaii's 2014 Hip Hop Culture Day Cypher Queen Reeses Pieces, and Madd Rabbit. It also featured a concert by Hawaii beatboxers Rad FX, Hammah, Sayber, Klimaxe, Rebeatz, Rampage, Mighty Noa (of 808 BeatVox), Kayden, Bodhi, and Kaimana.
