Sennheiser e602

This is one heavy mic in every sense of the word. Not only does it look the business but it's designed specifically for miking up transient (quick and spikey) bass instruments such as kick drums.

The 602 is not a sensitive mic and this means that on stage you can drive it hard and you won't suffer from feedback. I beatboxed at full volume directly into the mic and I couldn't overload it! The wind noise on the mic sounds great as a kick drum and I used this feature to good effect in the first continuous beat in the audio sample. This mic sounds awesome with any kind of beatbox and it even picks up nose and throat sounds.

If you're on the lookout for a rugged studio or permanent stage mic then check this out. The only problem I had with the Sennheiser e602 was that I couldn't drag myself away.
