From Yuma, Arizona, BR1 moved to Los Angeles, California in pursuit of music as a bass guitarist. After a few years in LA, BR1 stumbled upon a budding California Beatbox community late 2012.

BR1 has been a host for the 2013 Los Angeles Beatbox Haüs Battle and the 2015 Liberty Beatbox Battles.
