Beatboxing is the art of creating beatbox sounds with the mouth. Modern beatboxing includes bass, instrument, sound effects, MCing and singing and many beatboxers consider themselves to be multi-vocalists. Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion.
A-Plus in 2002 defined beatboxing as: "...primarily concerned with the art of creating beats and rhythms using the human mouth. However, it also involves the imitation of sounds such as scratching."
