Hey! Thanks for your question. For anyone else reading, here is the main post. For background, we use the “1 E & A” counting system. More info on that can be found here.

Basically, we write each sound you are supposed to beatbox above each subdivision of the beat.

For instance:

B  t  K  t       t  K  t
1  2  3  4  1  2  3  4

In that example, you are beatboxing a sound on each beat except the “1” that doesn’t have a corresponding sound above it.

Here is the same beat, but written on subdivisions of beats 1 and 2. This is the same beat as above, just four times as fast:

B  t  K  t       t  K  t
1  E  & A  2  E & A

If it helps, “E, &,” and “A” are just subdivisions of each number beat (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)

It’s kind of hard to explain on here, so I can make a tutorial video if you like.
