But from one female beatboxer to another…you should see if you can get that changed. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a lipstick like that actually messes with any lip sound you make. It’ll muffle your kickdrum and if you try to do a liproll, you’ll probably find that you can’t. I know how it sucks when EVERYONE else is wearing these bold lipstick colors and you’re not, but your mouth is covered by the mike anyways so the audience doesn’t even notice. And besides, quality of sound should ALWAYS come above your uniform…especially over something so silly like lipstick.

One thing I like to do is to put on lipstick before/after shows during photographs and then wipe it off right before I get onstage. That way I fit in nicely with the other girls in my group for the photos, but onstage my beatboxing is 100%.
