How it's done
Fast repetitive hi-hats such as those used in drum and bass routines are almost impossible using the traditional { t t t } technique. At fast tempos many beatboxers alternate between two sounds.
- Learn the basic closed hi-hat { t } - you should certainly know that sound by now!
- Combine it with a "k" sound as if you were saying the word "tikka"
When added to fast beats this gives the illusion that you are doing multiple "t t t" hi-hats
