Inward Fast Hi-Hats | Inward TK's

Inward fast hi-hats is a rapid execution of the basic hi hat and the percussive 'k' snare in rapid succession. This technique is largely beneficial when practicing both technicality and circular breathing.

Standard Beatbox Notation (SBN)

{ ^t ^k }

How it's done

  1. Say tukuh tukuh while breathing inward
  2. Remove the vocalization so you only get rapid 't' and 'k' sounds
  3. Change the shape of your mouth to create flanger effects

The inward fast hi-hat is a sequence of a { ^t } and { ^k } to produce { ^t ^k }.

This can be repeated: { ^t ^k ^t ^k ^t ^k ^t ^k } or used in a beat pattern.
