With most new school beatboxers today, (as one myself) I tend to focus a lot on technique and intricate patterns. But in order to form your own style to your liking, you have to not only implement both technical patterns, but form your own flow. For me , I listen to my favorite genres of music and base my structures and routines of of that.
You can always start off by basing a certain style from certain beatboxers but focus on little things such as transitions and bpm rather than copying whole routines in itself.
But the most important thing to being a skilled beatboxer is to be ORIGINAL. Think of things that you are most interested with beatboxing and make your own routines and maybe even constructing original sounds.
