The AKG BBB D-5 is a custom manufactured D5 microphone developed in partnership with Beatbox Battle TV, which was built specifically for beatboxers, making this particular microphone the gold standard for all beatbox competitions.
The D5 has a dual-layer 'varimotion' diaphragm that delivers a powerful sound. The unique laminated material damps high resonance peaks in the frequency response, which, in combination with the tight, super-cardioid polar pattern, gives the BBB DFive an outstanding high gain before feedback.
It has a thick internal windscreen to prevent wind noise even in lip-contact use without altering the accurate high-frequency response. Handling noise is effectively eliminated by a dual shock mount.

The Verdict
The specifications of the BBB D5, including the frequency response and polar graphs, are identical to the regular AKG D-5. Although the branding plays a special role in our hearts, you'll get the same results with the original model.
